Last tribute for Joseph Sanda

Struck down by a short illness on 7th December in Yaoundé, the assistant coach of SNH Vélo Club and former runner of the team was buried on 18th December in Maroua, in the presence of ASCH and Fecacyclisme officials, who paid tribute to his successful career.

Many still remember the conversations they had with him at the 20th edition of the Grand Prix Cycliste International Chantal Biya 2020 a few days before his death. Prior to becoming assistant coach, Joseph Sanda had been one of the leading figures of SNH Vélo Club.

Born on May 9, 1985 in Mora, in the Far North region, he joined the SNH Vélo Club team in the early 2000s.

The team is indebted to him for winning the yellow jersey in various competitions and on several occasions. He won the national cycling championship in 2005, the Grand Prix Cycliste International Chantal Biya in 2006 and the Tour Cycliste International du Cameroun (TCIC) in 2008. And beyond the borders, he displayed Cameroon’s flag by winning the trophy of the Tour de l'Est de la Côte d'Ivoire in 2006, as well as his hard-won silver and bronze medals at the African Cycling Championship which was held in Algeria in 2007.
