The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona, decorated SNH workers with labour medals ranging from silver, silver-gilt to gold for the years 2018 and 2019. The ceremony was held on January 31 at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel.

23 workers received the silver medal, rewarding at least 10 years of service, 16 the silver-gilt medal, acknowledging at least 15 years of service and three, the gold medal, honouring at least 25 years of service.

In his remarks, the staff representative Ibrahim Mbouombouo thanked the General Management of SNH for all the measures taken for the benefit of the workers and the MINTSS for joining the deserving workers of SNH on this special occasion.

In his address, the EGM of SNH commended the progress made in the conduct of SNH activities since 2017, when the previous ceremony of this kind took place. He congratulated the medallists as well as all SNH workers for their dedication to work.

In awarding them the precious metal in the name of the President of the Republic, the MINTSS also lauded their achievements and invited the audience to follow their example. It also hailed the professional career of the EGM, "a model of integrity and sobriety, an example of discipline at work" and invited all the workers present to emulate him.
