Thanks to the Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project, Cameroon will be able to export natural gas as from 2018. For this purpose, gas from the Sanaga South and Ebome Marine fields will be liquefied from a floating facility located off Kribi. The expected production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is 1.2 million tons per year.
The project will also produce 1.8 million barrels of very light oil called condensate for the refinery, and 30,000 tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly known as domestic gas, for households in Cameroon.
The Floating LNG plant, the first of its kind, is an initiative of SNH and its partners Perenco and Golar.
